Realizacja projektu stanowi część procesu dostosowania struktur Straży Granicznej do wypełnienia wymogów w zakresie zapewnienia ochrony granicy państwowej i porządku publicznego zgodnie z ustaleniami z Schengen. Głównym celem projektu jest wzmocnienie ochrony granicy państwowej, zapobieganie i zwalczanie nielegalnej migracji, handlu ludźmi oraz walka ze zorganizowaną przestępczością transgraniczną poprzez zwiększenie zdolności instytucjonalnych Podlaskiego Oddziału Straży Granicznej oraz Służby Ochrony Granicy Państwowej RL przy MSW. W ramach projektu Strona polska planuje dokonać zakupu sprzętu specjalistycznego przeznaczonego do ścigania sprawców przestępstw i wykroczeń popełnionych na terenie służbowej odpowiedzialności oddziału, natomiast Strona litewska zakupi sprzęt i wyposażenie służące do ochrony litewskiego odcinka granicy państwowej. Zastosowanie w/w asortymentu w realizacji ustawowych zadań pozwoli na właściwe zabezpieczenie terenów przygranicznych oraz podniesie skuteczność i efektywności działania Straży Granicznej. Ponadto partnerzy projektu będą mieli możliwość zaimplementowania dobrych praktyk stosowanych po obu stronach granicy oraz wymianę doświadczeń. Mając na względzie dobro społeczności współpraca służb będzie miała wymierny wpływ na zapewnienie bezpieczeństwa i porządku publicznego całego regionu. Projekt przyczyni się do zwiększenia ochrony ludności zamieszkującej nie tylko w obszarze Programu, ale również całej UE.
Beneficjentem w Projekcie jest także Słuzba Ochrony Granicy Państwowej przy Ministerstwie Spraw Wewnętrznych RL.
Realizacja działań projektowych będzie trwała 18 miesięcy. Instytucja Zarządzająca zobowiązuje się do alokacji środków z Europejskiego Funduszu Rozwoju Regionalnego na realizację Projektu w wysokości 926 068,02 EUR.
The Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania, acting as the Managing Authority of the Interreg V-A Lithuania–Poland Cooperation Programme, represented by the chancellor of the ministry Karolis Vaitkevičius, concluded with Podlaski Border Guard Regional Unit of Maj. Gen. Henryk Minkiewicz, represented by Deputy Commander of Podlaski Border Guard Regional Unit, Col. BG Stanisław Supiński Contract no Nr LT – PL -3R -199 “Cooperation of Lithuanian and Polish border guard services”.
The implementation of the project is part of the process of adapting the structures of the Border Guard to meet the requirements of ensuring the protection of the state border and public order in accordance with the Schengen arrangements. The main objective of the project is to strengthen the state border protection, prevent and combat illegal migration, trafficking in human beings and fight against organised cross-border crime by increasing the institutional capacity of the Podlaskie Division of the Border Guard and the Border Guard Service of the Ministry of the Interior. Within the framework of the project, the Polish side plans to purchase specialist equipment for prosecuting perpetrators of crimes and offences committed within the area of official responsibility of the branch, while the Lithuanian side will purchase equipment and equipment for the protection of the Lithuanian section of the state border. The application of the above mentioned assortment in the implementation of statutory tasks will allow for proper protection of the border areas and will increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the Border Guard. Moreover, the project partners will have the opportunity to implement good practices applied on both sides of the border and to exchange experiences. Taking into account the welfare of the community, the cooperation of the services will have a measurable impact on ensuring security and public order of the whole region. The project will contribute to increasing the protection of people living not only in the Programme area, but also in the whole EU.
The beneficiary of the Project is also the State Border Protection Service at the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Lithuania.
The implementation of the project activities will last 18 months. The Managing Authority undertakes to allocate funds from the European Regional Development Fund for the Project implementation in amount of 926 068,02 EUR.
